Le Moulin De La Porte - Gites for Rental in Normandy
By Sea
There are multiple routes to choose to travel by Sea. Brittany Ferries offer routes from Portsmouth and Poole, to either Cherbourg, La Harve, and Caen. Caen is only about 1 hour drive from Le Neufbourg 50140 so is the quickest travel time once arrived in France, the ferry crossing is about 6 hours. In the summer months the fast cat travels from Portsmouth to Cherbourg and also Poole to Cherbourg.
If your travelling with Pets you can take the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to La Harve which has Pet friendly cabins so you can take your dogs out the car. (We have done this with 3 dogs and is a great option) The travel time from La Harve to Le Neufbourg is about 2 hours from leaving the Ferry.
You can also travel P&O from Dover and drive once leaving the ferry in Calais which takes about 4.5 hours from Calais.
By Rail & Bus
You can take the Eurostar from St Pancras to Paris and then catch a connecting from Pairs to Vire which takes about 3.5 hours. From Vire you can pick up the bus which 23Km later drops you conveniently right in the village of Le Neufbourg 50140. We are about a 1 min walk to the bus stop.
By Air
The two closet airports are Caen and Rennes. You can fly from Southampton or London South End to either destination.
You can then hire a car on arrival and both airports are about 1 hours drive to Le Neufbourg.
Fly Be fly 3 times a week to Rennes from Southampton and if booking in advance you can usually get a return for under £100 or 112 Euro.
